About Turkey

Turkey is predominantly a Muslim country, and the official language is Turkish, but the Kurdish and Zazaki languages are also spoken by Kurds and Zazas who comprise around 18% of the population.

Since the early 1980s the tourism industry of Turkey has expanded rapidly, when legislation promoting Turkish tourism was introduced. In 2010, over 28 million foreign visitors travelled to Turkey, making tourism one of the countries major sources of revenue.

The coastal areas of Turkey bordering the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea have a temperate Mediterranean climate, with hot and dry summers and mild winters. Most of the popular Turkish resorts are located along the southern Mediterranean coastline, with beach resorts such as such as Dalaman and Antalya attracting large numbers of tourists from all around the world, especially in the summer months.

If you are travelling in a group and require a larger vehicle such as a minivan/minubus for the busy summer months, we recommend booking as early as possible to guarantee the vehicle of your choice.
